“God is on about life” - Rikk Watts

God came to earth so that we “…may have life and have it in all its fullness” (John 10:10b). The name Foster-Church is multifaceted and has to do with what we believe, as Christians, we are called to “foster”. That is, the role of nurturing, and cultivating full life in and outside of the church. Full life: Has to do with life lived within the reality, goodness and holiness of God — now and forever. We believe that it is through spiritual formation, thoughtful communication, rooted service and sincere relationships that the church participates with God in fostering full life. Spiritual formation: Our participation in the life of God which results in the shaping of our person and church to align with who He is and what He is on about. Thoughtful communication: How we talk about God is just as important as what we are saying about Him. Rooted service: Being present in our families, jobs, schools and neighborhoods allows us to become more aware of the real needs of our selves and those around us. It requires time, attention, prayerful listening, and stillness. It is an outward demonstration of who and what we truly love.Sincere Relationships: We care for others, not because we have an ulterior motive but because we are called to love.

Good to know.

Mission: To become the type of people who love God with our whole person and who love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves. Vision: A body of disciples who seek to foster abundant life in the Kingdom of God who are marked by their love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Values: We value sincerity, humility, accuracy, ongoing spiritual maturity and transformation. Service: We serve the foster care community by becoming foster families and/or supporting foster families through sharing our time, resources, and skills. Other-oriented: We focus our attention and care on our sphere of influence and serve the people and places in our path. We are careful to ensure our path intersects with those who are unlike ourselves, and are mindful that our choices do not contribute to the oppression of creation. Our Logo: A sprouting tree surrounded by water, fostered by a diverse community that comprises the good soil. “Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jer. 17:7-8.
